Taxitics offers fixed-zone and per-kilometre transfer quoting. A fixed fare depends on the selected pickup and drop-off zones; the exact addresses help locate you and do not calculate that zone fare. Per-kilometre quoting uses the supported driving route. Choose the method that matches your journey, then check the full quote, passenger selection and availability before paying.
Two ways to describe the same travel need
Most travellers begin with a practical requirement: get from an airport, hotel or other address to their next destination. A booking engine needs that requirement in a consistent form. Taxitics lets you begin either with a pair of commercial zones or with locations used to calculate a driving route.
The choice affects how the base journey is priced. It does not remove the need to provide complete addresses, a travel date, an appropriate passenger group and any special requests. A result on a screen is useful only when those details describe the journey you actually intend to take.
The Taxitics booking page separates the two methods. Read the instructions within the method you select and follow the confirmation shown for that booking. Do not carry an assumption about one method, such as a displayed return offer, into the other without checking.
What a fixed-rate zone means
A zone is a group of locations used in the transfer pricing system. It is not an official administrative boundary, a guarantee of identical travel times or a claim that every property in the group has the same access arrangements. Its role is to match your starting area and destination area to an approved fare.
For example, the booking structure treats Wailoaloa separately from Nadi Area Hotels and Denarau Hotels. Selecting the broad Nadi choice simply because your accommodation uses Nadi in its postal address may therefore describe the wrong commercial zone. Use the actual property location and ask if you are unsure.
Other zone labels group resorts along parts of the Coral Coast or identify areas such as Vuda, Lautoka and Rakiraki. Some labels include well-known hotels to make the area easier to recognise. Those names are examples within the commercial structure, not a statement that bookings are limited to those hotel brands.
The exact address is still essential
Once you select the correct zones, enter the precise pickup and drop-off locations. These can be a suggested hotel or an exact address within the chosen zone. The free-text location is there to guide the driver and identify the destination; it is not an alternative pricing field.
Consider a traveller staying in an apartment within an approved zone. The apartment may not be one of the suggested names. That does not mean a nearby large resort should be entered instead. Provide the apartment name, road or access instructions and a useful pin where available. Confirm that the address belongs to the zone before accepting the quote.
Putting an address from a different area into a cheaper-looking zone does not make that combination a valid booking. The zone and location must agree. If you cannot establish the right choice, send the full address to Taxitics and ask for help instead of selecting a familiar name just to reach checkout.
A fixed-zone example without an invented price
Imagine two couples staying at different properties in the same correctly selected pickup zone and travelling to the same drop-off zone. Under the approved fixed-zone rules, their exact property text does not create a different base zone fare. The route pair controls that base fare.
That does not mean their entire bookings are interchangeable. Different dates, confirmed extras, return arrangements or other displayed booking conditions may affect the final amount or availability. One property may also need different meeting instructions. Compare the actual final quote rather than assuming that identical base zones settle every detail.
Now change the destination to a property in another zone. The original result no longer describes the trip. Go back, choose the correct destination zone and request the new quote. Tell the provider about a destination change after booking so the service can be amended and confirmed.
Select the actual passenger group
The approved fixed-rate configuration supports these nine passenger combinations. Use the option matching the people travelling, and give the children’s details when needed for seat arrangements. Passenger selection is about an accurate booking, even where the base fixed-zone fare is the same across these supported choices.
- One adult.
- Two adults.
- Three adults.
- One adult and one child.
- One adult and two children.
- One adult and three children.
- Two adults and one child.
- Two adults and two children.
- Three adults and one child.
There is no separate percentage child discount to calculate for these fixed-zone groups. Do not choose fewer passengers in an attempt to obtain a cheaper fare. If your party does not fit a supported choice, ask for a larger-group arrangement. Four adults, for example, should not be entered as a smaller adult group with a child.
Also describe bulky luggage and requested child seats. A supported passenger group is not a promise of unlimited bags or included equipment. Those practical requirements need confirmation so the provider can assess the vehicle and any additions.
How per-kilometre quoting differs
The distance method starts with pickup and destination points used to find a supported driving route. Place each point at a sensible vehicle access location. The route should reflect road travel, not the straight-line distance between two pins. A point in the sea, behind an inaccessible gate or on the wrong side of a property can produce an unsuitable request.
Review both locations before asking for the calculation. Similar place names and map suggestions can be misleading, especially when an accommodation brand has more than one property. Use the full name and inspect the selected location rather than accepting the first search result automatically.
The displayed distance and quote relate to the route supported by the booking system. They do not automatically approve an unusual detour, an off-road entrance, an island crossing or a long sightseeing stop. If the journey has those features, describe them and request confirmation before relying on the calculated result.
Which method should you choose?
Use fixed-zone quoting when you know the correct pickup and destination zones and the system offers that approved pair. It provides a straightforward way to compare a recognised area-to-area journey without treating each hotel name as a new fare calculation.
Consider the distance method when your intended mainland journey fits its supported location and routing options. It may help describe a trip that is easier to identify by precise points. Availability and route support still need to be satisfied. The presence of a map does not mean every location can be served automatically.
If both methods return a result for your trip, compare the complete booking conditions and route description. Do not assume that one method must always be cheaper. The useful comparison is whether each quote covers the same pickup, destination, passenger group, date and agreed requirements.
What if a zone pair has no fare?
A missing result means the system has not supplied a configured automatic quote for the selection. It is a reason to enquire, not a reason to swap to an unrelated hotel, choose the wrong zone or presume the journey is free. Check the two selections first, then send the actual trip details.
A helpful enquiry contains the full pickup address, destination address, date, approximate travel time, passenger group, luggage and any extras. If it involves an airport, add the flight number and the local arrival or departure date. A screenshot of the selection can help explain the issue without becoming a substitute for those details.
Different travel directions or special route variants should also be checked as displayed. In particular, a Suva journey via Queens Road and a scenic Kings Road request must be described accurately. Do not apply a standard result to a different road itinerary simply because both end in Suva.
Resolve an uncertain zone with an address
When a property appears to sit between familiar areas, ask Taxitics which booking zone to use. Send the complete accommodation name, its address and a map link where helpful. A screenshot showing only the property photograph or a shortened name gives less information than the location itself.
Keep the answer with the booking so you can repeat the correct selection for the return journey. If the suggested address and the map pin do not agree, resolve that before accepting the fare. An accurate zone selection should be based on where the vehicle must actually go, not on which result is easiest to obtain.
For an unfamiliar apartment, ask the host for vehicle access instructions too. The correct commercial zone and the correct entrance solve different problems: one identifies the pricing area, while the other helps complete the pickup. You need both pieces of information for a clear reservation.
Read the final total and inclusions
Before payment, verify the journey summary and total amount in the stated currency. Check whether you are booking one way or a return, which dates and times are recorded, and whether an offer applies to that exact booking. Do not calculate your own seasonal or return discount from a previous quote.
List requests such as a child seat, bottled water, an extra stop or additional waiting separately. A request becomes part of the arrangement when it is accepted and its terms are clear. An empty note field or a mention in an enquiry is not evidence that an item is included without charge.
Save the confirmation and keep it with the itinerary. If anything changes, ask for a revised written summary. This makes the new arrangement easier to follow and reduces the chance that the original location or passenger details are used on travel day.
Keep road and island arrangements separate
Taxitics ground-transfer planning covers Viti Levu. A road quote to a marina, wharf or airport covers the land journey described; it does not include a ferry, resort boat or onward flight unless explicitly arranged and confirmed as a separate service. There is no road connecting Viti Levu to an outer-island resort.
If you have a boat connection, identify its actual departure point and check-in time. “Denarau” can refer to a hotel stay or a port transfer, and those are different arrival instructions. The right zone is only the beginning; the destination text must finish the job.
For a broader comparison of transport choices, read our private transfer and airport taxi guide. Use the method that accurately describes your trip and ask for clarification whenever the booking summary does not match it.

Frequently asked questions
Do hotel names calculate the fixed fare?
No. The pickup and drop-off zones determine the base fixed fare. The exact hotel or address identifies the location and must belong to the selected zone.
Can I enter an apartment that is not in the suggestions?
Enter the actual address within the correct zone and confirm uncertain zone boundaries with Taxitics. Do not substitute a different hotel as the pickup just because it appears in a list.
Is there a percentage child discount on fixed-zone fares?
The approved fixed-zone fare is the same for the nine supported passenger combinations. There is no separate percentage child discount to calculate. Any confirmed extras are handled through the actual quote.
What should I do if my route does not return a price?
Check both zone selections and enquire with the complete addresses and travel details. A missing automatic fare does not establish availability or price.
Does a per-kilometre result include a sightseeing stop?
Not automatically. Describe the stop, expected duration and any detour, then obtain confirmation of the service and total before paying.
